This is an idea I had for a long time, but could not find the right car or truck body to use for the sleigh body...
I decided to scratch build the sleigh body from scrap styrene plastic...

Many of the parts you see were used from several 1/64 diecast cars of various brands.
Seats are from A Racing Champions Fast and Furious car, Headers from a Johnny Lightning car, and the engine from a Hot Wheels car... |
|
More features added...
Dash is from a Racing Champions El Camino, Frame and rear end from a Johnny Lightning Zingers, Treads were from a plastic crane ( cut down to the right length)... Holes also cut for headers, puttied, sanded , and primered... |
|
Closer to the finishing touch...
Front skis were cut from the styrene plastic. The ski frame was a roll cage from another Racing Champions Fast and Furious car, and the NOS bottles from the same car. A cool red paint job and Santa is almost ready to retire Rudolph... |
|
Still more detail needed...
I'm still looking for a windshield to use to protect Santa and his chosen co-pilot. Tread wheels will also be painted silver and gold... |

One cool scratch built custom ride !!!
Sitting on one of my scratch built handcrafted car trailers makes a cool display...

|
Another scratch project...
A cool scratch built camper to fit the Hot Wheels 69 El Camino... |
|
A fresh paint job...
Still looking for a more detailed set of tires and wheels before the final assembally. Also windows and an interior for the camper... |
